Dallas police swarmed the parking lot of Woodrow Wilson High School on Thursday afternoon following reports of a shooting.
Officers were dispatched to the 100 block of South Glasgow, adjacent to the school, around 3:45 p.m. The incident occurred shortly after school dismissal.
Aerial footage of the scene shows an extensive area taped off by police. Investigators appeared to be focused on a white minivan, with a dark substance visible on the ground outside the vehicle. Authorities have not confirmed any details, including the condition of any possible victims or whether any suspects are in custody.
The Dallas Independent School District has not released an official statement. In a brief email to families, Woodrow Wilson High School administration acknowledged the situation, stating, “We are aware of a situation near campus. Dallas Police are on scene and investigating. Please avoid the area.”
Multiple emergency medical vehicles responded to the scene, though it is unclear if any patients were transported to local hospitals.
This incident occurs amid ongoing national and local conversations regarding school safety and security protocols. Dallas PD is expected to release more information as the investigation develops.
This is a developing story.
